Sanjay Dutt has been diagnosed with adenocarcinoma of the Lung. Lung adenocarcinoma is a subtype of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). The 61-year-old actor was recently admitted to Lilavati hospital after there was an accumulation of fluid in his lungs which was cleared and a test was done. The report of the test was only received on Monday through the family and the doctors treating the actor did not confirm sources in the film industry have said that the actor indeed has the disease.

Dutt was under Dr Jalil Parkar treatment and was discharged from the hospital on Monday. When contacted Dr Parkar declined to comment due to patient’s confidentiality.

The actor on Tuesday posted on social media that he was taking a break from work and will be back soon.

Reportedly, the actor had a lung collapse in the 80s after he joined the industry. He was sent to the USA for treatment where he came close to Richa Sharma and married her in 1987. She died of a brain tumour in 1996. Dutt’s mother Nargis Dutt too died of pancreatic cancer in 1981 and it was just before his film debut with the film ‘Rocky’.

Also, it is being said that if Sanjay doesn’t get permission to travel to the US he might for treatment in Singapore.

On the work front, he will next feature in ‘KGF: Chapter 2’. The actor unveiled his first look poster on his birthday. He will also star in a film with Ajay Devgn and Sonakshi Sinha.
