BJP MP Jaya Prada came in support of Ravi Kishan over his remarks about drug addiction in Bollywood.

She said, ”completely support Ravi Kishan ji’s remarks about saving youth from the problem of drug trafficking/addiction. We need to raise our voice against the use of drugs & we need to save our youth. I think Jaya Bachchan ji is doing politics over the issue”.

During the second day of the Monsoon Session in Rajya Sabha, Jaya Bachchan said, “Just because there are some people, you can’t tarnish the image of the entire industry. I am ashamed that yesterday one of our members in Lok Sabha, who is from the film industry, spoke against it. It is a shame. People in the entertainment industry are being flogged by social media. People who made their names in the industry have called it a gutter. I completely disagree. I hope that govt tells such people not to use this kind of language.” She got support from a lot of Bollywood celebs. From Taapsee Pannu, Sonam Kapoor Ahuja, Farhan Akhtar, Genelia D’Souza, Richa Chadha, Rohit Bose Roy, among others supported her.

Reacting to her statement, Kangana Rananut sked her if her kids Shweta and Abhishek Bachchan were in her place, would she have said the same thing? The ‘Queen’ actress tweeted, “Jaya ji would you say the same thing if in my place it was your daughter Shweta beaten, drugged and molested as a teenage, would you say the same thing if Abhishek complained about bullying and harassment constantly and found hanging one day? Show compassion for us also.”
