According to reports, the civic body paused its demolition of the interiors of Manikarnika Films office after the actress sought a stay order. Following an inspection of the actress’ office space on Monday, the BMC issued her a notice and cited certain “illegal alterations” which they would raze if she didn’t respond in a 24-hour period.
The actress’ lawyer filed a plea in court against the demolition and claimed that no work was being carried out on the premises. In his statement, he said “as falsely understood by you, so the notice issued by you as “Stop Work Notice” is absolutely bad-in-law & appears to have been issued only to intimidate her by misusing your dominant position.”
While her legal team awaited her arrival in the city, her lawyer was spotted at the scene, taking into account the damages.
Kangana, on the other hand, tweeted a series of photos of BMC workers tearing down the interiors of her office space. With a smiley, she posted a tweet that read, “There is no illegal construction in my house, also government has banned any demolitions in Covid till September 30, Bullywood watch now this is what Fascism looks like.”
In a series of tweets, the actress who gained flak for comparing Mumbai City to Pakistan occupied Kashmir, reiterated her beliefs saying, “I am never wrong and my enemies prove again and again this is why my Mumbai is POK now.”
On Tuesday, the BMC had filed a caveat in a local court, saying that it should be heard first if Ranaut challenges a stop- work notice issued to her.
