Vaani, who was last seen sharing the screen with Hrithik Roshan in the blockbuster hit ‘WAR’, will star alongside Akshay for the first time on-screen.
To make the big announcement and share their excitement about this first time pairing, the two stars got together for a fun photoshoot that was later shared online.
Producer Jackky Bhagnani confirmed that Vaani will have a “meaty” role in the much-anticipated movie. In a statement, the producer was all praise for his leading lady as he said, “Vaani is an intelligent and an effective actor and I have loved all her performances. The female lead in ‘Bell Bottom’ has to be in sync with Akshay Sir’s screen persona. The role is meaty and I am confident that Vaani will ace this one.”
Sharing her excitement about the new venture, Vaani said in her Instagram post, “Super Super Thrilled & Excited for this one !! Teaming up with the one & only @akshaykumar Sir Can’t wait !!! #BellBottom Let’s get this started”
Directed by Ranjit M Tewari, the story will reportedly be set in the 1980s. Written by Aseem Arrora and Parveez Shaikh, the film will tell the story about one of India’s forgotten heroes. The film was announced by Akshay in January 2020. The actor not only shared a stylish poster but also said, “I know there are enough memes out there about me clashing with myself one day but 22nd January 2021 is not that day #BellBottom will now release on 2nd April 2021!”
Owing to schedule delays due to the coronavirus pandemic, ‘Bell Bottom’ is now scheduled to go on floors later this year. It remains to be seen if the team will be able to keep it April 2021 release date.
