Palak took a walk down the memory lane and spoke about this song has a special place in her heart. She also revealed this song was special for Sushant too. Reminiscing the good old memories, Palak said, “I can’t believe it. It seems like yesterday literally. I have very prominent memories of working on the film, on the song. I remember meeting Sushant last year itself at an award function and my performance was scheduled before his, we were at backstage. He told me that ‘Kaun Tujhe’ was a song which was played to him first and this was the song on which he prepared for his character. So while he was rehearsing to be MS Dhoni and to be in his skin, he was constantly listening to this song. This song was his first brief that was given to him to prepare for the character. He told me how special this song was for him. It is definitely very special for me also because it emotionally defines me as a person. The serenity and purity of melody go along so well, Amaal Mallik has composed it so beautifully and Manoj ji has written such words that kind of resonated with every female in the world. I am really glad. I think for an artist, it’s a big thing when people consider a song which is singing out their hearts. I am really happy that ‘Kaun Tujhe’ did that.”

Further she also spoke about how she came on board for the project. “I came on board because of Amaal. He called me up for the song. He had sent me the song before recording and he asked me about my views on the song. As soon as I heard it, I was like I am definitely going to sing it. Then Neeraj Pandey sir narrated the story, a background of before and after the song, and about the character Priyanka which Disha Patani played. Yes, I poured out my heart. I am happy that it is very close to everybody’s heart,” concluded Palak.

Directed by Neeraj Pandey, the MS Dhoni biopic was a superhit back in 2016. The film also starred Kiara Advani, Anupam Kher, Bhumika Chawla, Kranti Prakash Jha and others.
