Irrfan Khan passed away in Mumbai early Wednesday afternoon. The actor was hospitalised for colon infection. He was diagnosed with neuroendocrine cancer in 2018. The actor was in London for the treatment and returned to India in 2019. B-town celebs have taken to their social media to mourn Irrfan’s demise. Now, his ‘Piku‘ co-star Deepika took to her Instagram handle to remember the actor.

She shared a black screen and captioned it with a broken heart emoji. Helmed by Shoojit Sircar, ‘Piku’ also featured Amitabh Bachchan in a pivotal role. Irrfan played the role of Rana Chaudhary, who runs a cab service in Delhi and that’s how he comes in Piku aka Deepika and her father’s life. Amitabh too tweeted about the news. He wrote, ”T 3516 – .. just getting news of the passing of Irfaan Khan .. this is a most disturbing and sad news ..

An incredible talent .. a gracious colleague .. a prolific contributor to the World of Cinema .. left us too soon .. creating a huge vacuum .. Prayers and duas”.
