The advocate told the media that it is a “cognisable offence” for which the accused can get 3 years of imprisonment under section 354 and 509 of Indian Penal Code, if found guilty.
Earlier, in an interview with ETimes, the ‘Patel Ki Punjabi Shaadi’ actress had said, “I have wanted to speak about this for a long time. But today, finally I thought I must get it off my head.”
She added, “No, I don’t have any of his text messages as quite some time has rolled by and I have changed more than one phone since then. Neither I had recorded what happened at his house (in the third meeting).”
Meanwhile, Kashyap rubbished all the allegations of sexual misconduct levelled against him by the actress, he announced on his twitter handle that he has been asked to remain silent. His lawyer has released an official statement on behalf of the filmmaker. Here take a look:
