Veteran actor Rishi Kapoor‘s demise has been as big a blow to the entire film industry as that of Irrfan Khan. While Irrfan was a super talented actor who emerged years after Rishi’s peak years in the Hindi film industry, he carved his own niche in Bollywood. On the other hand, Rishi was a gem, an actor par excellence and someone who was one of the very pillars of Hindi cinema. He belonged to the era when films were seeing Western influences and Rishi was one of the front runners in introducing new trends in India through cinema. Be it his variety of sweaters or his shiny outfits or even his dafli, Rishi was THE trendsetter. And so, when the beloved actor passed away, his demise was mourned by the entire nation. His fellow stars who had shared screen space with him were deeply affected and his pals from the industry could not believe the news. One of them was his close friend actor Rakesh Roshan. He recently opened up in an interview about the morning when he found out about Rishi.

Rakesh, who himself had been diagnosed of a tongue cancer, has been cured of the illness after undergoing treatment. His son, actor Hrithik Roshan had revealed it back in 2018. While speaking about Rishi’s demise, Rakesh said that he got a message from a friend asking about the ‘Mulk’ actor’s health. He called up Randhir Kapoor to check about his brother but his phone was busy. That was when he realised that something was wrong. On dialing Rishi’s son Ranbir Kapoor, Rakesh received the news and instantly broke down. He mentioned that instead of him consoling Ranbir, the ‘Sanju’ star calmed Rakesh down instead. Rakesh said that Ranbir had been a pillar of strength to his father Rishi throughout his illness.

This revelation has just proved once again that Ranbir made sure to be by his father’s side until the end in the true sense of it. During the last two years, Ranbir has been working on two films, ‘Brahmastra’ and ‘Shamshera’. And while he did not fail in his commitment to the movies, he also kept making adjustments in his schedules whenever his father needed him and gave him all the emotional and physical support that he could. He also introduced his father to his life partner, Alia Bhatt, which must have proved to be satisfying for Rishi. He at least had the good luck of seeing who his future daughter-in-law would be.
