found herself in the eye of a storm when she shared a post on social media about locust attack. According to reports Zaira quoted a religious verse which didn’t go down well with netizens and she ended up deactivating her Twitter and Instagram accounts. However, she returned to social media and reacted to the controversy in a lengthy note, “My tweet was completely taken out of context and blown out of proportion and none of the opinions, whether good or bad, define the reality of my intentions, for that is between me and My Rabb, and something which I’m not even going to explain, for I’m only accountable to Allah and not His creation.”
Explaining her actions of returning to social media, Zaira had earlier posted, “Because I’m just a human, like everyone else, who’s allowed to take a break from everything whenever the noise inside my head or around me reaches it’s peak.”
Zaira ended her note with, “P.S I am not an actress anymore”, referring to her decision of quitting Bollywood last year. Her last film was ‘The Sky is Pink’ along Priyanka Chopra and Farhan Akhtar.
